The sculptor Michelangelo Mazarron Oribe, based in San Sebastian, has completed installation of the third work commissioned by the Nautilus Hotel Lanzarote called "Group".
This work type mural, made of steel cut with oxidised finish, has some measures of 3.90 x1, 80 meters has been installed in a wall of the main entrances to the bungalows within the hotel complex.
This assignment is part of a set of 3 works together with "Greeting" and "Embrace", installed in 2007, which are designed for that hotel.
For the realization of this new sculpture, Oribe has spent two months working in the workshops Pereira de Lanzarote, as well as the suitability of the site and installing the piece.
"Group" is a mural type work that is in line with other recent work Oribe in the circle takes a prominent place in sculpture and structure based on stacked modules with those achieved spectacular volumes and a significant presence .
Oribe Michelangelo was born in 1968 in Mazarrón and from a young age he moved to San Sebastian with his parents.
From 1988 to 1990 he studied at the School of Art and Design in San Sebastian, where he began sculpting in stone.
In 1994 it became part of the group "International Art."
Furthermore, the sculptor of origin has been the architect Mazarron numerous sculptures such as "Ametsa", "Place of Dreams", "Danrzari", "Gurpil", "ACT Corona, among others.
During his long career with numerous awards sculpture in highlighting its award for "Gizon" to install a sculpture in honor of the immigrants from Guipúzcoa, has also been selected in the "Sculpture by Álava Route Contest."
Oribe has happy memories of his land, proof of this is that almost every year summers in Puerto de Mazarrón.
Worth noting that in his last visit he gave last summer, in gratitude, two paintings to the Mayor which are in his office.
