The Commission Phoenician boat lays the foundation for the exhibition of the wreck in the town (08/02/2016)

The Monitoring Committee Phoenician boat from Mazarrón and has dated a new meeting.

On Friday, the director general of Cultural Heritage, Maria Comas and the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, attended the last meeting of the expert committee working on the definition of the processes, methodology and timetable to be followed for the extraction and enhancement of Phoenician ship "Mazarrón 2" of the seventh century BC remains submerged on the beach of the island.

The attached schedule provides for a time estimate for the exhibition in a museum ship in Mazarrón, a period of two and a half years.

The project involves experts from different Spanish universities such as Zaragoza, Cadiz, Murcia and Madrid and representatives of the Ministry of Culture.

The meeting at which the Minister of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, Juan Hernandez, joined it was attended by the Councillor for Cultural Heritage, Pedro Martinez and municipal archaeologist and secretary of the commission, Maria Martinez.
