The Mazarron celebrate the day of their patron with traditional religious acts (09/12/2014)

Mazarrón has come alive with fervor the day of its patron, the Immaculate Conception with traditional religious ceremonies.

Hundreds of people showed their devotion on this date that brings together families and neighbors around the image of the Virgin.

The events began at 9 am at a hospice with a Mass celebrated by the parish priest of San Andres and San Antonio, Julio Romero Fernández.

The Franciscan Sisters of asylum, responsible for its organization, were also in charge of the choir.

Among those present were the Mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Garcia, Deputy Mayor, Ginés Campillo and the President of Mazarrón Red Cross, Carmen Navarro.

Precisely volunteers of this NGO, which celebrates its 150 national anniversary and 116 years locally, made a wreath to the image of the Virgin.

Then at noon held the Solemn Mass at the Shrine of the Immaculate.

Most members of the municipal corporation attended the religious ceremony officiated by three priests.

During the Holy Eucharist Mass Mazarron made over fifty years ago by neighboring D. Juan de la Cruz and Antonio Saura was interpreted.

In the afternoon, after Mass the expected and traditional procession was held with the image of the Patroness of all Mazarron.

The procession started from the sanctuary and was opened by the Band of Bugles and Drums of Mazarrón.
