The newly opened skate park located near the descent of the lighthouse will be this Saturday the scene of a musical and sporting festival.
From seven in the afternoon, this place will host an exhibition of skateboard and a basketball competition 2 vs 2. Sporting tests will be completed with the performance of five sets of hip hop, three local and two guests arrived from Cartagena.
Admission will be free.
The event has been devised by the Department of Youth and Sports and Local Development with the intention of giving life to this space, offering a fun alternative more in summer.
In presenting this festival the local development council, Matilde Blázquez, stressed that with this type of activity "is to encourage visits to our town and looking for the impact on the local economy."
For the coordinator of the activity, Miguel Morales, with this type of event "is achieved to give life to a space that usually ends up in other cities deprecated".
Morales confirmed that after the sports events will take place awards.
For his part, Mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Garcia, was pleased and stated that "it is essential to listen to young people and the different groups to make available to them, as far as possible, what they request." Mayor compliance socialist insisted scheduled time to avoid prejudicing the other neighbors.
