Ecology, social justice and democracy and debate in Playa Grande (20/06/2014)

The crisis and its consequences are analyzed by different experts these days in a summer school run by the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Murcia, Antonio Campillo.

The weakening of the welfare state and the European social model is watched very closely by professors and students of Philosophy and Sociology mainly at headquarters has been enabled on the Playa Grande Hotel by the Sea International University and the City of Mazarrón.

Opened by MEP Willy Meyer, this course has been a wide range of professors, lecturers and researchers from the University of Murcia and the UNED, UPM and UAM.

In an ideal setting, with the swell, this course attendees reflected on the present and the future of democratic institutions in a time of crisis like the present.

Moreover, the impact of global capitalism on the biophysical conditions of the Earth contributes to economic difficulties an ecological dimension in which the concept of "unlimited growth" is gaining strength among academics.

Given the current crisis and accelerating climate change, it is increasingly urgent implementation of a new system of living, more sustainable, fairer and more participatory.

The closing and awards diplomas of this course will take place this Saturday, previously a roundtable focused on alternative political and economic crisis raised to be held.
