On Saturday May 17, the band 'Maestro Eugenio Calderón' delighted the audience with the musical tale "Peter and the Wolf ', a work by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, based on a folk tale of his country.
The show took place in the central courtyard of the Centro Cultural de Mazarrón and with the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the City of Mazarrón.
The narrator and presenter of the concert was Juan José Miñarro, who began with a mock contest 'You really are worth', in which the finalists were the instruments should play the characters in the story.
The young audience participated as a juror if lifting a green globe agreed, or a red one if it was not.
With the help of children from the public, the presenter assigned to the flute the paper bird, duck the oboe, clarinet and tuba cat grandfather.
And presented these four characters, the wolf was still missing, paper corresponding to the tubes began to ring before appearing behind the scenes;
Peter, the boy protagonist, was assigned to the saxophone "that had been the loser in the contest and was sad" and hunters represented by percussion that sounded forcefully.
Once assigned the characters, all the musicians took their seats and the narrator made a brief presentation of the instruments and the characters, while sounding the melody for each.
Then began the story of how Peter, a boy of only nine years old, ignoring the recommendations of his grandfather, he leaves his house next to the forest, and is a huge wolf.
With great cunning and with the help of his friend the bird will catch the wolf and send it to the people with the help of the hunters who were on his trail.
The especially younger audience and laughed and enjoyed the competition with this simple and didactic musical tale, one of the most popular and most commonly used as an educational resource on the subject of music to teach the timbre of different instruments.
The band will return in September to represent the musical tale "Peter and the Wolf 'at school' San Antonio 'Cañada de Gallego as opening the academic year 2014-2015.
