On Saturday May 17, the town of Mazarrón hosted the 3rd stage of Tour III Cadet Road to Murcia organized by the Cycling Federation of the Region of Murcia (FCRM).
116 athletes from 12 teams participated in this stage which was characterized by its hardness and in which, from the outset, young people competed to be the first to reach the finish line.
The participants covered a distance of 63 kilometers of medium mountain from La Canada where the official race began, led them to Leiva, The Watchtower, Morata, Ramonete Calnegre tips, Cañada de Gallego and after passing under the tunnel Sierra of the mulberry trees, Leiva returned to finish the tour at Constitution Avenue.
Especially hard was the climb from La Atalaya to Morata where there were several punctures and falls that marked the rest of the pace of the test.
Once this is complete a podium enabled on the bus stop Mazarrón Constitution Avenue hosted the awards ceremony which was conducted by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, and the Councillor for Sports, Andrew James.
In regard to the classification of this stage, the rider José Antonio García del 'Valverde Team' was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 1 hour, 23 minutes and 8 seconds
followed just one second apart by Alejandro Martinez 'Jorge Gandia Canet' Mirror Team David 'Roldán CC' and Raul Castejón also the 'Valverde Team.
In Cadet 1st.
year two runners crossed the finish line with the same time of 1 hour, 23 minutes and 21 seconds.
These were Jose Maria Castillo of 'Roldán CC' and Eugenio Sanchez 'Sapphire Restaurant Team.
In females, four young men crossed the finish line in a time 1 hour, 41 minutes and 53 seconds.
It was Angela Conesa, Sandra Alonso, Marina and Mireya Martinez Cerezo.
The 3 points of the Mountain classification stage were at the hands of Jorge Buendía, while Eugenio Sánchez scored 2 points and Jose Manuel Giner's got a point.
The Flyers Goals, Joshua Gomez got the 3 points, José Antonio García took 2 and David mirror with one.
For teams, the winner of the stage was the 'Valverde Team.
