Fishermen, sailors, locals and tourists profess their faith to the Virgin del Carmen (17/07/2013)

Another year, and as tradition, the Virgin of Carmen Mazarrón Bay sailed on her feast accompanied by hundreds of fishermen, sailors, locals and tourists, who for various events planned by the Fishermen's Association of Mazarrón professed great devotion and faith to Mary.

The events began at six in the afternoon at the fish market fishing dock where there was a mass in honor of the "Star of the Sea" which was officiated by Father Francisco Acosta, who recently was ordained as such this being first office crowded.

The Mass was attended by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, Captain Maritime District Mazarrón, Francisco Lopez-Ceron, the Director General of Livestock and Fisheries, Teodora Morales Carmen, the patron of the Brotherhood of Fishermen of Mazarrón, Juan Ballesta , and councilors of the municipal corporation Francisco Garcia, Isidro Coy, Maria Celeste Soria, Maria Martinez, Magdalena Mendez and Alicia Jimenez.

The office had the young voices of the parish choir of the Church of St. Joseph the craft songs filled attended by dozens of people.

After the Mass, the image of the Virgin embarked, to the sound of drums in the band of the Brotherhood Lady of Sorrows, in the ship "Paredes Garcia" boat this year was commissioned to take up the Virgin del Carmen to Bolnuevo.

There was held the traditional tribute in memory of deceased fishermen last year, throwing the faithful on water bouquets in memory of them and the rest of sinners and sailors died.

A dozen large and small boats, decorated for the occasion, made that journey to accompany the Virgin.

On his return to the fishing pier, the faithful behaved on his shoulders the throne once again had been ceded by the Association "Virgen del Milagro" to transfer the image to the church of San José.

The procession also included land large number of people and, as is tradition, there was a stop on the square of the Autonomous Communities where the Fishermen's Association of Mazarrón is headquartered.

Before reaching the temple, the image went on the shoulders of the faithful in the waters of the Port Beach, this being one of the most emotional moments of the day lived yesterday.
