The Full Council approved Mazarrón Town Hall on Monday, with the vote in favor of the government team, a payment schedule to pay off the debt that the municipality has contracted with the company Labarum Estate Group SA 8,276,510.48 worth Euro.
This corresponds to the contracted debt since 1995 with the garbage company "URBASER", which was absorbed by Labarum Group, and on which there are several court decisions requiring the council to deal with this payment.
As explained by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, "the calendar has to be paid to Group Labarum 50,000 per month until September 2014. Starting this month, payment shall increase to 150,000 per month in order to the debt is completely paid off in 2018. "
With this schedule, the City Council finally facing a "historic debt" that has become a "workhorse" that "none of the above has been successful corporations solve" stated the mayor.

This term was about to start the 32 million euros and "could be reduced to 22 million by the end of this year, thanks to the approval of budgets that include 4 million surplus," said the mayor.
Also, the council is already facing the return of part of the grant of the 'Plan E' which was used to build the old market "Cresta del Gallo" de Mazarrón.
In this case, the amount to reimburse the Central Government is of 1,596,276, 23 euros repayable in four years at 4% interest.
The first payment, in the amount of 33,255.75 euros, has already been carried out and will be repeated every month until June 2017.
The interest of this operation will amount to EUR 135,971.26, being the final disbursement by the municipal coffers 1,732,447.49 euros.
