Configured Local Coordinating Board on Gender Violence (29/05/2013)

Yesterday was formed Local Coordinating Board on Gender Violence that chaired the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, general director of Domestic Violence Prevention, Veronica Lopez, and the Councillor for Social Policy of the City of Mazarrón, Maria Martinez.

Its launch was held at the auditorium of the Town Hall of Mazarrón which brought together key agencies and associations involved in the fight against this social evil.

As Veronica Lopez said, "unfortunately we have to keep talking about gender violence because there are many cases of women who are victims of this scourge, which have registered but there are also many cases that we have recognized."

Thus, "these tables are created with the different municipalities of the region, because we consider important to our coordination create them. It is important that those involved directly or indirectly with these victims, or potential victims, we are coordinated and working in the same direction ".

For the general manager, "is important to work with those who are already victims, but it is much more important awareness and prevention of gender violence. Hence in this table work with health centers, Primary schools and Secondary, bodies and security forces, municipal health care centers and various councils involved. Veronica Lopez said that "we must all commit to this workshop meets every 3 or 4 months for all those who participated in this struggle we know what to do each one. "

The Councillor for Social Policy, Maria Martinez, Lopez acknowledged the presence of the meeting and also showed "the commitment of the session to continue bringing us henceforth from today. "

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, highlighted "the importance of the establishment of this working, since a joint and coordinated efforts will help us to provide an adequate response to a case regarding this social evil one hand, and to run a good prevention program on Gender Violence involving associations, schools, colleges, law enforcement and the City Council and its agencies, on the other ".

The mayor noted, in this regard, "the important work done by the CAVI Mazarrón to eradicate this scourge" and called "a good step the constitution of this table as an effective and efficient tool to combat gender violence".
