Master Association concert "Maestro Eugenio Calderon" (26/11/2012)

On Saturday 24 November took place the traditional Santa Cecilia concert the Band "Maestro Eugenio Calderon."

About two hundred people attended the new Casa de la Cultura de Mazarrón to enjoy the concert and to welcome new musicians in the band.

The concert began with the pasodoble "L'enters the Murta" fantastic?

composition of the great Valencian master Salvador Giner, followed by "Where the Black Hawk Soars" by Robert W.

Smith, a work that begins with a majestic fanfare that gives way to a rising melody that recalls the flight of the hawk.

The concert continued with one of the most popular movements of the suite "Peer Gynt" by Norwegian composer E.

Grieg, and "Odyssey for Percussion" author Elliot del Borgo, ending with the first part of the concert.

This work was completed with the "I do brasil Passaros" Kees Vlak, three-movement piece that covers the different Brazilian rhythms like samba, bossa nova and mambo.

During the intermission of the concert was held a welcoming ceremony for young musicians.

Each new musician was appointed and, as an act of recognition and acceptance, a veteran musician like instrument was placed in the jacket with the shield pin of the association.

This year was won by pin to twenty musicians.

Three of them, Alejandro Fernandez Mateo (horn), Fernando Morillas Vivancos Vivancos and Alvaro Cifuentes (trombones), and had joined the band last season, though he had not made his public presentation.

Ureña Mateo, José Fermín Candel Cascales, Alfonso Hernandez Campillo and Isabel M ª Santiago Perez (clarinets), Sergio Fernández Mateo (horn), Magdalena Gonzalez Ardil, Tomás Zamora Ballesta and José María Jerez Celdran (trumpets); Alberto Garcia Castillo and Antonio Aznar Noguera (flutes), Alejandro Martinez and Juan Mendez Hernandez Acosta (oboes), Ana Navarro Alarcon (saxophone), Miguel Lorente Martinez (cello) and Jose Rodriguez Molina (percussion).

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, congratulated all members of the band and was pleased that the Association "Maestro Eugenio Calderón" has been "which has premiered the central courtyard of this building that we have opened, in quotes, with the International Congress on Felipe II "and giving way" to the real stars of this night are all these young people who deserve our wholehearted support and recognition.
