Mazarrón unites against gender violence (23/11/2012)

This morning Mazarrón has joined against gender violence with various events that have started at 11 am with the reading of the Manifesto this year against such social evil by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo.

The reading was held at the Plenary Hall of the Town Hall and was attended by the Councillor for Equality, Maria Martinez, the Selectmen Mary Celeste Soria, Andres Valera, Juan Miguel Muñoz, Carlos Garcia, Miguel M ª García, David Fernandez , and dozens of students from schools "Philip II" and "XXI Century".

Just all these young people have been the protagonists of the activities after reading the manifesto, were developed in the Town Hall Square.

It was presided over by a purple flag in which 43 white ribbons, one for each woman victim of domestic violence mortal, drew the date 25-N.

Students from both schools have conducted various expressions as read manifestos against such violence or pluck a daisy from a partner's feelings because "we want or do not want."

They have also played songs like "Do not hesitate" of Antonio Flores or "Sirens" Flamenco Fund, the latter played brilliantly by Laura Muñoz.

Note also the interpretation of the artist Paco Menchero has sung a capella own theme inspired by a women he met in a care facility and had been victims of violence.

The finishing touch to all these artistic expressions has put the singer Mara, who recently participated in the hit TV show "The Voice", encouraging the audience with songs directly related to today's celebration.

During this event, Maria Martinez has praised the good work of "Mazarrón CAVI and components Jorquera Rosa, Carmen Mendez and Laura Pedroza who have worked excellently with all these young people."

Also within this commemoration and on Sunday November 25 will be held for the first time a difficult hiking route down Bolnuevo coves and leaving from the Oasis from 10 in the morning.

Halfway will read a manifesto and shared among the participants an aid station, before returning to the starting point.

To participate in the activity does not have to register in advance, but go directly to the starting point on time.

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, has asked all this morning that "we use new technologies responsibly today that, at times, become a form of harassment that we can get out of hand."
