Mazarrón this weekend celebrating the holidays in honor of the Virgen del Cisne (15/08/2012)

This weekend Mazarron, and especially their Ecuadorian community, celebrate the feast of the Virgen del Cisne.

A commemoration that, year after year, is growing in participation not only of the residents of Mazarron, but other municipalities in the region from where they move dozens of people who want to honor the patron saint of Ecuador.

The celebrations are organized by the Brotherhood Virgen del Cisne and working them through the Town Council of the council of Celebration.

This year we have rescheduled two full days of festival whose main events will be held at the fairgrounds of Mazarron.

Yet another place that will become the nerve center of the festivities is the Plaza del Convento de Mazarron where, beginning at 9 am on Saturday 18 and until 10 pm that day, the doors of Shrine of the Immaculate Conception will be found open to the faithful to contemplate the image of the Virgin of the swan.

That same Saturday, from 19:15 hours, will also have the procession with the image of "The Churonita" name that is known affectionately to this Marian title, due out of that temple, and this year saw expanded to give greater prominence to the celebration.

The procession will travel Convent Square, Plaza de Callao, Constitution Avenue, Pine Street, Calle Alfonso X "El Sabio" street "Painter Agustin Navarro" and back again to the temple.

At night, from 22:30 hours, will be the cry of the holidays this year and sets various measures to Mazarron and others came from different parts of the Region as Dolores de Pacheco, Totana or San Javier who performed several traditional dances.

Folklore is an essential part of this evening with the participation of artists like Jorge Salvatierra, "The Wayces" Ana Andrea "Chillagana C", "The Owner's Band" or Paty "The Consent of Ecuador."

On Sunday August 19 will continue the activities with late homers sport started in the previous day and held popular games such as pots enchanted land, racing sacks, ball chair, ball tomato, egg-air, stick or binge eating greasy foods.

In addition, during the holidays, the fair will feature kiosks where you can sample typical Ecuadorian food with dishes like Creole chicken soup, tamales, sausages, ceviche, fried pork and skewers, among others.
