Mass participation in the celebrations of August (17/08/2011)

The so-called holiday in August held in Puerto de Mazarrón connection with the bridge of the Our Lady of the Assumption proved a great success of participation thanks to the efforts by the Department of Celebrations of the City of Mazarrón.

On Saturday, people came to the harbor promenade vibrated with a concert offered by the "Apache", who played a lot of issues on the rock group was as memorable as "The Police", "U2" "Queen", "Dire Straits" or "Pink Floyd".

Attendees, who numbered in the dozens, danced and hummed to the sound of this band that left jienense great taste among the public.

On Sunday, residents and tourists enjoyed another concert by the group "De Nadie" and a fireworks display that was paid for by traders walk.

The spectacle of light and color delighted the large number of people, both young and old, who was given an appointment for one more night around the square of the Autonomous Communities.

Since Monday, the church on the beach of La Ermita had hosted a Mass celebrated by the parish priest of San Antonio and San Andrés, Julio Romero, in honor of Our Lady of the Assumption.

Dozens of residents, mostly from Bay Management and the Island, came to the site to participate in the Eucharist and subsequent procession with the image of the Virgin.

Also attending the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, and the first deputy mayor, Francisco García.

But the festivities did not end there because, Tuesday, Roque Moreno Guarinos Park, formerly known as "Garden of Champions," hosted the performance of Rondalla de Mazarrón who held a year the feast of San Roque with a tribute to that neighbor.

Roque Moreno was the forerunner of the musical group and promoter of musical culture among the youth of the municipality.

La Rondalla played immensely popular songs like "Maybe, maybe, maybe" or a medley of pasodobles and some own songs like "Bay of Mazarrón" and suggestions from the audience.

This celebration was attended by over a hundred people among whom were relatives and neighbors Guarinos Moreno and friends of the honoree.

They were also participants in this festival Councilman Celebration, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Coy Isidro, the Councillor for Urban Public Services Management, Juan Miguel Muñoz, the councilman of Youth, Sports, Finance, Revenue and Heritage, Andrew James, and the Councillor Social Policy, Health, Gender and Historical Heritage, Maria Martinez.
