The Local Police fight against illegal trade (14/07/2011)

One year, the local police in the Mazarrón has carried out destruction of seized illegal material in the weekly markets and Puerto de Mazarrón, as well as in different parts of the street.

This year has been destroyed more than 5,000 illegal copies of CDs and deuvedés, scores of false scents, over a hundred bags and belts counterfeit trademark goods, and even an electric guitar and several chainsaws.

Were also seized more than a hundred shirts, shirts, pants and other clothing items, instead of being destroyed, have been donated to Caritas.

The Councillor for Citizen Security and Civil Protection, Miguel Maria Garcia, emphasized "the great work that the police carried out to not be able to carry out these illegal practices in the municipality."

A work which, as explained by the councilman of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Coy Isidro, "watch over the defense of legal trade in Mazarrón."

In this sense, Coy wanted to send a message of reassurance to the merchants of the town "because the police will continue with this comprehensive work."

Meanwhile, the chief officer of the local police, Gerardo Marin, said that illegal vendors whenever they manage better to try to sneak into the weekly markets or go unnoticed in public.

Therefore, the police conduct a monitoring device that leads them "to monitor bus stations during the night before the celebration of the markets, as well as by civilians patrolling the main tourist attractions of the town" in search of these vendors without a license.

Coy Garcia also wanted to send a message to the public not to buy from these vendors, not just because of illegal material in question or even stolen, but also because, in the case of perfumes, they can be harmful to health .
