Reverte emphasizes the safety of beaches in Murcia and demands caution for swimmers (15/07/2010)

The Surveillance and Rescue Plan Beaches and Rescue at Sea Region mobilizes this year 233 people per day, 40 in Mazarrón

The Minister of Presidency and Public Administration, María Pedro Reverte, Mazarrón said today that "security in all the beaches of Murcia, from Eagles to San Pedro del Pinatar, and within, is assured, thanks to the Monitoring Plan Beaches and Rescue and Salvage at Sea in the Region of Murcia, Copla Plan 2010.

At the time of high risk, from 1 July to 31 August, the City of Mazarrón Plan reinforces Copla device on the beaches of the municipality with about 40 people dedicated exclusively to rescuing and monitoring of the beaches of El Mojon , El Alamillo, El Rihuete, El Puerto, La Isla, Bahia, La Reya, La Pava, Nares, El Castellar I and II, Bolnuevo (camping and Oasis) and Percheles.

From June to September, the Plan attracts a total of 233 people a day, including lifeguards, craft patterns and medical technicians at checkpoints located along the coast and river beaches in the region, located in Mula, Calasparra and White.

The Plan is operational Copla all year, but due to high occupancy of the beaches between June and September are considered medium risk in July and August, high risk.

The overall budget for the 2010 Plan totaled 2,653,000 Copla euros, of which the Autonomous Community provides 825,000 euros, distributed mainly between the agreements with the local coastal and riverine areas and Red Cross.

In the case of Mazarrón, the Plan budget for this year amounted to 254,382 euros, of which 95,822 euros are provided by the region and the rest of City Hall.
