Mazarrón puts the finishing touch to the Spanish Championship of watercraft (09/10/2017)

The beach of the Port of Puerto de Mazarrón hosted last weekend the third test of the Spanish Championship and the Copa del Rey of watercraft.

Almost a hundred pilots from all over Spain congregated in the coastal town where they enjoyed their passion and an exceptional scenery, in turn they made enjoy the spectators and fans of the motor show that filled the beach all weekend.

On Saturday they played the different sleeves of the Circuit modality, three by category, adding up the points obtained were decided winners.

The circuit was set very close to the beach so that the fans could follow the evolution of the races comfortably.

It is worth mentioning the participation of the future promises of this sport.

For a few seasons, categories have been included on the grid in which children from the age of twelve are involved, with the intention of creating a quarry that will keep the sport of jet skis and the formation of new pilots.

In the spark junior category the winners were Juan Carlos Martín, first place;

Alejandro Prats, second position;

and in third position, Joan Sevil.

In the other junior category, the jet ski, the first classified were Joan Sevil and Esteban Diaz.

The other modalities, such as runabout sport GP2, was led by Alberto Moncayo, Bruno Roselló and Pedro Pérez Vizcaíno.

Jordi Tomás was the spark runabout champion, followed by Toni Vingut and Alejandro Artiñano.

In the GP3 jet ski, the top three were Joan Sevil, Alejandro Muñoz and Roger Pujol.

The jet ski promotion GP3 was led by Esteban Díaz, first place;

Nicolás Lanfranco, second position;

and Raúl Torta in third place.

In the Runabout GP2 modality the winners were Ismael Rojas, Joaquín Pareja and José Jorge Conejero.

Finally, in the queen mode, the GP1 runabout, the formula one of the jet skis and, therefore, the most spectacular, the winner was Ismael Rojas, followed by Roberto Alexander and Patrick Agostinho.

In this same modality, Alejandro Molina had to leave the competition after winning with total authority the first sleeve, in the second, a mechanical failure ruined his chances of victory.

Sunday morning began with an almost summer weather, ideal for water sports.

In the first place was disputed the test of Rally jet, consisting of crossing a established circuit in front of the beach of the Port, that the pilots had to cross in two different sleeves.

The champion in GP1 was the pilot of Pacutos, Alejandro Molina, followed by the Murcian pilot, Eduardo Belchí, and the also Murcia, Juan Jose Romero.

In GP2, the winner was Luis Naranjo, followed by Jose Salas and Juan Antonio Rodríguez.

The off shore test took the participants to the Azohía, where they rounded a buoy, placed for the occasion, and returned to Puerto beach.

After touring this circuit on several occasions, he was proclaimed GP1 winner Alejandro Molina, who obtained the double, in addition to proclaiming himself a champion of the Copa del Rey 2017. In second place came Enrique Martinez, and third place was occupied by Julio López.

In this category we must regret the abandonment, when he was outstanding leader, of the pilot of the Region, Eduardo Belchí.

In off shore GP2 the first classified was Jose Salas;

the second, Juan Antonio Rodríguez;

and the third, Samuel Pujante.

Also noteworthy is the surprising participation of the pilot Jesús Gallego.

Jesus, because of a physical problem, has the functionality of a single arm, so he must maintain the direction of the motorcycle with only one hand, the other carries it in a sling.

Off shore jet skis reach speeds of almost 150 kilometers per hour and are constantly crashing against the waves, so the physical wear and tear is enormous.

Before returning to their different destinations, the winners received their trophies in a ceremony presided over by the councilman of Sports of the City of Mazarrón, Patricio Sánchez;

the president of the Spanish Motonautics Federation, José Miguel Martínez;

and the president of the Federation of Motonautics of the Region of Murcia, Dionisio Baño;

besides having the presence of the president of the Yacht Club of Mazarrón, Juan Marín.

The test of the Port, which did not have to regret any kind of incident during the competition, put an end to the 2017 Spanish Motorcycle Watercraft Championship, which was fired until next year in the best possible way in a privileged environment for motonautics.
