The Local Development Agency belonging to the Department of Employment of the City of Mazarrón has notified the latest data on unemployment in Mazarrón.
According to these figures, Mazarrón has one of the lowest unemployment rates in recent years, standing at 12.71%, being also one of the lowest in the Region of Murcia.
The current number of unemployed stands at 1,658.
A total of 561 people stopped being unemployed from January to August.
At the end of summer 2015, 2,121 people were unemployed and at the end of the summer of 2016, a total of 1,819 people.
In December 2012, the highest unemployment rate in recent years was reached at 19.42%.
Last December the rate stood at 16.43%.
For the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, it is a news that encourages the local administration to continue working and further reduce those figures.
In the same vein has been expressed by the Councilor for Employment, María Ángeles Román, who wanted to highlight the policies that are carried out both in the Center for Municipal Employment Initiatives (CIME) and the Agency for Local Development with the aim of achieve full employment in the municipality.
