The Community allocates 174,000 euros for the home assistance of dependent persons in Mazarrón (17/07/2017)

The Councilor for Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, together with the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez, visited one of the users who benefits from the new service of Home Help, where he stressed that the Community finances with more than 174,000 Euros the attention to people dependent on this municipality.

The budget will go to the set of actions that will be carried out at the homes of dependents, to meet the needs of their daily lives, such as cleaning, washing, cooking or other, as well as personal care and daily activities .

Violante Tomás stressed that this service "provides professional care to dependent persons in their homes, as well as a continuous monitoring by municipal social services, which means the creation of jobs, especially for women."

Last year informational meetings were held with Councilors of Social Services of all municipalities, in which the subject of the agreement of the Service of Assistance to Domicile of the System of Attendance to the Unit was treated, so that all can count on this service in the same conditions.

These agreements, which are being implemented in all municipalities, will allow dependent people to be cared for in their locality, at home, with professional help and, in addition, in the best possible conditions.

This year this service has been extended to five municipalities: Mazarrón, Totana, Aguilas, Alhama de Murcia and San Pedro del Pinatar, in addition to those already in 2016: Abarán, Alcantarilla and Puerto Lumbreras.

32,000 people

The regional government serves more than 32,000 dependent people with benefits granted, of which 22,000 are seniors.
