A group of students of the IES Domingo Valdivieso has carried out during this month of April a project of investigation focused on the Third Age and in which they link the loss of smell of the majors with its possible relation with neurodegenerative diseases.

This project has been carried out with the collaboration of the Unit of Attention to Alzheimer's Disease and other Dementias, dependent of the Department of Social Policy of the City of Mazarrón and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Murcia.

In the aforementioned study, a cognitive evaluation of 15 users of the Unit has been carried out, who are attended weekly in the Mazarrón Day Center by professionals who focus on various treatments related to the branches of psychology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy And social work.
