With the opening in a month of the new Hotel Alegria Dos Playas, Mazarrón will expand its offer of hotel rooms coinciding with the arrival of the high season.
This Thursday the Director General of Tourism, Manuel Fernandez and the Councilor for Tourism, María Ángeles Román visited the facilities of an establishment that will open with 138 rooms and the capacity to accommodate a total of 550 people.
The investment of Profusa (Fuertes Group) and the execution in the work of the group Chamizo Arquitectos has allowed to reform and to update according to the new times a hotel designed decades ago by Juan Guardiola and that was a tourist reference in his time.
Its implementation comes to revitalize the offer of Mazarrón as noted by the councilor María Ángeles Román.
"Mazarrón needs to expand hotel spaces to generate wealth, we have the resources and works like this is certified that we are taking important steps for Mazarrón to have the name he deserves."
The City Council of Mazarrón approved at the end of 2016 a series of tax breaks with the objective of attracting investors with the ultimate objective of increasing the number of hotels, a notable lack in the municipality.
After the investment of Profusa, the Consistory awaits the arrival of new agents.
The new hotel is conceived as a family hotel with ample outdoor services (children's and adult's pool, paddle tennis court, children's area, leisure and entertainment facilities, gym, sauna and spa).
The team of architects has managed to preserve elements of the old building as the locksmith and stained glass.
