The citizen collaboration through recycling allows to raise 90,000 euros that this Thursday have been delivered to the Association of Families of Children with Cancer of the Region of Murcia
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, attended this Thursday the closing of the Ecovidrio campaign called "Vidriosueño" which along with several municipalities has been developed with the objective of raising funds to decorate the walls of the new Hospital Infantil Virgen de la Arrixaca.
The health center has been the place chosen to put the finishing touch to an agreement signed between Ecovidrio, the non-profit entity in charge of the management of the recycling of glass packaging waste in Spain and the Association of Families of Children with Cancer Of the Region of Murcia (Afacmur).
Roberto Fuentes, manager in the area of ​​Levante of Ecovidrio, has delivered a nominative check of 6,000 euros to the president of Afacmur, Francisco Palazón.
This amount is in addition to the more than 90,000 euros that Ecovidrio has managed to raise with the sale of 30,000 solidarity bracelets among all the citizens who have deposited their glass containers in the green igloos installed in different points of the adhered municipalities, among them Mazarrón.
The event was chaired by the Director General of Quality and Environmental Assessment, Encarnación Molina.
Alicia Jiménez has expressed her satisfaction for the solidarity support that the mazarroneros have shown and also those who visit the coastal municipality, "since with a simple gesture they have not only collaborated in the care of the environment but also in making the stay and therefore the Life more pleasant to the users of the new children's hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca. "
