José Méndez, elected King of the Third Age |
The mayor of the municipality have celebrated on Wednesday the traditional day of coexistence organized by the City Council on the occasion of the Fiestas Patronales de la Purísima Concepción.
The tent of the Fairgrounds of Los Rincones has hosted the events programmed by the councils of Social Policy and Celebrations.
During the day has taken place the election of the Queen of the Third Age, appointment that this time has fallen, after drawing, in Teresa Martinez.
Also, the new King of the Third Age is José Méndez.
A total of twelve candidates have been submitted to the election, being finally ladies: Cati Guerrero, Josefa Ortega, Francisca Martínez, Francisca Cazorla, Manuela Chuán, Gregoria Martí, María del Carmen Garrido, María Josefa Costa and Antonia Ribis.
Luciano Salvi and Juan Paredes have also been candidates for King of the Third Age.
The mayor, Alicia Jiménez and the councilors of Celebrations and Social Policy, Patricio Sánchez and Laura Ortiz have given a detail to the participants.
The day began with several performances of the Senior Center of Puerto de Mazarrón.
Carmen Garrido sang by Rocío Jurado the theme "Ay mi Rocío" and Mercedes Ponce also Rocío Jurado with "Pastora Imperio".
After the meal that counted on the attendance of the councilors of the municipal government team took place the election of the Queen and King of the Third Age.
At its end, the corals of the Day Centers of Puerto and Mazarrón played several musical pieces.
The day ended the performance of the duo "Azabache".
