More than 350 people enjoy the Geolodía on a route by the Calas de Bolnuevo (09/05/2016)

Mazarrón was last Saturday Geolodía headquarters in Murcia, national activity taking place across the country on the same date.

This is a free initiative, which does not require registration, and is organized by Gealand and the City of Mazarrón.

A total of 354 people coming from different parts of the Region of Murcia and other neighboring provinces participated in a route that began in the esplanade of Erosions Bolnuevo and traveled a total of 6.5 kilometers with 8 stops where different geologists explained, with workshops and educational way, the peculiarities of the composition of the geological landscape were visiting.

An organized way and in groups of 20 performed the route starting with a workshop trace fossils dedicated to the smallest.

Along the route he was involved, the families who participated in various educational activities.

The initiative as stated Councilman Heritage, Pedro Martinez, present on the route, seeks to raise awareness about the rich natural and paleontological heritage with which the municipality and spread it among locals and visitors with the intention to value and preserve wealth this entails.

The Councillor for the Environment, Francisco Garcia, said during the presentation, the importance of events like this, "and they also have an outstanding tourist attraction for the city between friendly population sectors Environment"

The route is supported by the Geological Society of Spain, the Spanish Association for the Teaching of Earth Sciences (AEPECT) and the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME).
