This morning, the Councillor for Social Policy, Yolanda Vivancos, closed the 'Conference on Prevention of psychomotor difficulties', which have been developed for the second consecutive year in the CEIP Infanta Leonor.
The ceremony also attended by the Director of the CEIP Infanta Leonor, Antonio Gallego, and psychomotor Coordinator of Early Childhood Centre de Mazarrón, Joseph Cote.
This exciting program has covered preventive aspects linked to the motor that directly affect school performance.
The program is comprised of several phases as the detection of difficulties, by the tutors, by collecting information through observation scales provided by the CDIAT, the interpretation of data, establishment of groups risk, provide appropriate guidance, all part of the professional in charge of the program and monitoring and evaluation, both by professional tutors and the program manager.
Potential users of the program, which has developed from October 2009 to June 2010 have been about 150 children from kindergarten to 3, 4 and 5.
The center makes a very positive assessment of all the actions carried out during the implementation of the program, both by tutors of the courses and the Director of Studies and Director of the Centre.
In Early Childhood Education 3 years the students have improved their coordination and balance.
In Early Childhood Education 4 years learning has been focused on the maintenance of proper posture, especially in the sitting position.
At age 5 kindergarten teachers have been cases of cross laterality explaining some of the students spectacles.
The Department of Social Policy of the City Council encourages other schools in the municipality to join the 'Conference on Prevention of psychomotor difficulties, a program of the Center for Early Intervention Mazarrón aimed at all children aged between 3 and 5 years.
