| The mayor, Gaspar Miras, and the president of the organization, Carmen Navarro, have signed this morning the agreement that has made the continuity of this service possible | The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, and the president of the Mazarrón Red Cross Assembly, Carmen Navarro, have signed this morning the agreement by which the organization will continue to provide the health transport service in the municipality next year, as as it was happening.

An agreement in which the City Council contributes 152,000 thousand euros, despite the fact that they are powers that are not typical of the council. The new contract signed by the Autonomous Community for next year, left out the Red Cross as a provider of this service but, finally and after the relevant negotiations with the Murcian Health Service, it has been possible to find a legal way for the organization to continue to carry out this task, embodied in today's signature. Gaspar Miras explained that "we have been able to renew this agreement with the Red Cross that the Mazarrón City Council has established for more than 10 years for the co-financing of health transport to the reference hospital centers and also for the operations of the different events that are held.

they develop in the municipality and in which the Red Cross collaborates ". The mayor has highlighted the importance of the Red Cross continuing to carry out this service since "during all these years they have provided it with total efficiency" adding "the great need we have in Mazarrón due to the precariousness that the Murcian Health Service has with the ambulance transport service currently ". For her part, Carmen Navarro recalled that "we have 2 ambulances and 7 specialist technicians in health emergencies who provide this service on a day-to-day basis, who require their salary, as well as the cost of medical supplies and diesel that must be financed." A service that "without the help of the City Council we could not continue providing" Navarro has remarked. The president of the Mazarrón Red Cross, has also underlined the benefit of this service for the citizens of the municipality "being necessary because of our distance from Santa Lucía, La Arrixaca or Rafael Méndez" adding that "even the Murcian Health Service praised the quality given by the Red Cross in its medical transport ".
