| The Town Hall wears a pink ribbon on its façade these days as a symbol of support for those who suffer from this disease | Mazarrón celebrates today the 'World Day Against Breast Cancer' and does so with a large pink bow that from this morning presides over the facade of the Town Hall building.
A color that "from 8 o'clock in the afternoon will illuminate both Town Halls and the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús del Puerto" as revealed by the Councilor for Social Policy, Miguel Ángel Peña, together with the president of the Local Board of Mazarrón of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Luisa María Heredia. Heredia has commented that "this year is being a little different, as for everyone, and right now the Local Board would be working 100% to celebrate the 'March for Life' that this year due to the current circumstances cannot be carried out.
But the president of the AECC in Mazarrón did not want to miss the opportunity to "remember on this day all the people who are going through the disease, but let's not forget that it is a continuous fight every day." The activities that the Local Board celebrates during this month serve to raise funds for this cause but since it cannot be celebrated, "citizens can make their contributions by buying solidarity masks at 6 euros, ribbons and bracelets at 1 euro and backpacks from 'Mucho For Living 'at 4 euros that will already be available from this afternoon, "commented Luisa María Heredia, who recalled that" they can be bought from the different members of the Local Board of Mazarrón or at the' Tamuffy 'establishment in the Plaza of the Convent ". For his part, Miguel Ángel Peña stressed that "one more year the City Council wants to show its support for the AECC and all those who suffer from this disease, especially those women who are in the fight against breast cancer." A support that has materialized with a photograph at the doors of the Town Hall in which the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, the deputy mayor, Ginés Campillo, the Peña and Heredia themselves, as well as members of the Local Board of Mazarrón have been present of the AECC and the government team.
