| Arrangements are also being carried out on the promenade of the Port and other points on the coast due to the de-escalation and the arrival of summer | The Department of Services is undertaking various improvements and arrangements in different parts of the municipality through municipal operators and with fully municipal financing.
Among these tasks, the change from normal lights to LED lights in districts stands out.
The mayor of Services, Tomás Ureña, explained that "street lamps have begun to be arranged in districts such as Cañada de Gallego, Majada, Gañuelas, etc; where some have melted and are already replacing LEDs that represent less consumption." Likewise, the cobblestones are also being arranged on the promenade of the Port so that it looks perfect facing the weeks of de-escalation and the arrival of summer.
The arrangement of sidewalks by the operators is also being resumed, such as the one carried out in the Bitácora street of Playagrande or the patching of the streets near the Sunday street market in Puerto de Mazarrón to improve its passability.
"Some improvements that will be undertaken at more points as we have more material and human resources that, unfortunately, are limited although we know that there is much to be done," said Ureña. And it is that the Department of Services, at this time, through the municipal company Bahía de Mazarrón and the Actúa and Orthem contracts; it must also maintain the disinfection tasks in the municipality in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, which have also been extended to terraces of bars and restaurants and the improvement of green areas and gardens with pruning and clearing work, which must be continued since the Heavy rains this year are causing a strong increase in trees and plants.
A complete work plan that is arduous due to the number of different areas and population centers that the municipality has.
