The intense rains that have fallen during the last days in Mazarrón have caused the usual situations of water stagnation in some floodable areas of the municipality, but, as the hours have advanced, the most affected points have been draining, as a result of maintenance and cleaning works. of these areas that the City Council has been carrying out.
One of these points is the Bahía Urbanization in Puerto de Mazarrón, which was in good condition this morning, despite the fact that rainfall during the last 48 hours has exceeded 100 liters per square meter in some parts of the municipality.
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, and the Councilor for Services, Tomás Ureña, have been this morning in the urbanization visiting these points that, despite the painstaking work carried out, continue to present problems when the rains intensify due to the arrival of a DANA, and in order to take new measures that can mitigate the effects of precipitation.
Throughout the morning, the workers of the municipal company of Bahía de Mazarrón and the Actúa and Orthem contractors have carried out work in the area and have opened the Axial Way, one of the main arteries in the area, to traffic. Return to normality to those streets that presented, due to the problems that the phreatic level entails, some water stagnations.
