This past Friday, the Mazarrón Seniors Day Center held a great Carnival party that featured important news and the presence of the Social Policy mayor, Miguel Ángel Peña, accompanied by councilors Silvia García and Francisco José García, who enjoyed of the programmed activities from the center address.
For the first time, the dance schools De Rosa and Juan Antonio Iglesias visited the center to delight users with their dances, thanks to their dedication, they offered a chirigota to their classmates as a novelty.
A costume contest, which won the ballot box for the participation council elections, and a crow and snack dance completed a fun afternoon that was enjoyed by everyone.
Also, on February 20, 32 users of the Day Center for People with Intellectual Disabilities, accompanied by 12 monitors, made an exit to Totana, where they participated in the II Adapted Carnival, organized by the Occupational Center 'José Moya', which It was carried out in the streets surrounding the Center.
The Alhama Day Centers of Murcia and Lorca and the educational centers of the municipality also joined the parade.
The tour was carried out with a perfect organization by the host Day Center and effective security measures by the Local Police and Civil Protection of the City of Totana, with the assistance of many citizens who encouraged the passage of the participants.
Among the objectives that are intended with this activity, are to give visibility to people with functional diversity, promote personal autonomy or favor social relations, among others.
Once the parade was finished, they gave us a detail for the participation in the II Edition of the adapted Carnival.
