In the absence of coastal phenomena for this weekend, the appointment of the 'Fesurfing Junior Series' scheduled for the 15th and 16th of this month is postponed to the following weekend.

Thus, the beach of Junta de los Mares, more popularly known as 'Bahía Grande' beach, will host one of the tests of the Official National Circuit of the Spanish Surfing Federation in Junior category on February 22 and 23.

In this way, Mazarrón will not only premiere this competition in the Murcia Region, but also for the first time in the Mediterranean.

This was announced by the Councilor for Sports, Francisco José García, and the president of the Bahía Surf Sports Club, José María Cascales, who were accompanied in the presentation of the event by Toni Abenza, competition director of the Spanish Surfing Federation, and Julio Asensio, representative of 'Huertas Motor' who is one of the sponsors.

The participants, 625 in the event last year, will compete in the Sub 12 categories in mixed mode and Sub 14, Sub 16 and Sub 18 in both male and female mode.

Disputing 9 tests, each with 1000 points, which will be held on the coasts of Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Asturias, Galicia, Cantabria and, as a novelty, Murcia.

The beach of Junta de los Mares (its name comes from the formation of that beach by two types of tides, those of Levante and Poniente) stands out for having a sandy bottom with different breakers and a prolonged slope perfect for the creation of Waves, ideal for surfing and competition and more than fifty participants are expected as it is a beach recognized by surfers.

In addition to the support of the Department of Sports of the City Council of Mazarrón and Huertas Motor, the test has the sponsorship and direct support of the Catholic University 'San Antonio' ​​of Murcia, as well as other large Murcia companies such as Hero, Upicus and the Huertas Motor itself, which will make it possible for the test to be held for the first time in the Mediterranean.
