This week there was a meeting between the Councilor for Tourism, Raquel Raja, and the Director General of Competitiveness and Tourism Quality of the CARM, Esther Tenza, in which matters of interest for the tourism development of the municipality regarding lines of joint action in quality areas and possible joint actions between both organizations.
Within the joint action areas, the implementation of SICTED (Destination Quality Tourism System) was discussed in the area of ​​quality.
Specifically, the state of implementation of the project in Mazarrón, which currently has 10 affiliated establishments and possible actions to ensure that the private sector joins the same as the possibility of subsidizing those certified establishments or specific promotion for them, etc.
Within the area of ​​quality, the possibility of including some of the tourist points of the municipality in the next 'Q' Quality certifications that the General Directorate will promote in the year 2020 was also valued. Among the spaces that can be added to this certification the Office of Information and Tourism and the Museum 'Factoría Romana de Salazones' were managed.
Finally, a review was made of the different quality projects in which the city council participates, such as Banderas 'Q' for Quality, 'Banderas Azules' and 'Banderas Ecoplayas', as well as the municipal commitment to offer tourists the best conditions possible during your visit to Mazarrón.
In another order of issues, various projects were evaluated that could be subsidized by the Ministry of Tourism, whether proposals aimed at helping the private sector in projects such as 'Bikefriendly' destination, or assistance to the city council itself in projects such as improvement and modernization of the facilities of the Tourist Office, improvements of accessibility on beaches or improvement of the Route of the Watchtowers with the enhancement of the Tower of Santa Isabel.
