The foreign community of Camposol celebrates one more day the "Armistice Day" (12/11/2019)

As every November 11, the 'Garden of Memory' located in Sector A of the Camposol Urbanization hosted the 'Armistice Day' celebration.

It is a commemoration to remember the sacrifices of members of the armed forces and civilians in times of war, specifically since the First World War.

It is an act deeply rooted in the foreign community of Camposol.

The event was attended by the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, the first deputy mayor, Ginés Campillo, and the councilors of the government team Silvana Buxton, Tomás Ureña, Raquel Raja and José María Moreno;

who attended the traditional trade and subsequent floral offering that takes place in the monument installed in the center of the aforementioned garden and in which the City of Mazarrón participated for another year.

Well, it is tradition that on this day, in addition to placing in the garden some crosses on whose cruise you can see the popular poppy symbol of commemoration and where the names of those loved ones who have been victims of the war are engraved, they are donated plants and flowers that swell the aforementioned garden.

The 'Memorial Day', as it is also known, is celebrated on November 11 to remember the official end of the First World War, since the main hostilities of this war were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th of the month 11 of 1918, with the German signature of the Armistice.

The poppy symbol has its origin in Jonh McCrae's poem entitled "In the fields of Flanders" in which he mentioned poppies that sprouted in the graves of soldiers who had died in the Great War.
