During the ordinary plenary of the month of July, up to three were the councilors of the government team that gave accounts of their work to the corporation.
One of them was the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Puerto de Mazarrón and Pedanías, José María Moreno, who explained that "we have recovered the Councils for Citizen Participation as they were when the council was created two legislatures ago."
Moreno argued that "for me, Citizen Participation is one of the most important areas, so I have been meeting with associations and neighborhood groups in recent weeks."
This initiative had been relegated in the last term to a simple electronic mailbox through which the suggestions and complaints of citizens were sent, "but what I want is to be everywhere and listen to the neighbors. I want it to be a council that knows the whole world and in which people are participants to give their opinion, "said the councilor.
Moreno also spoke about the need for all associations in the municipality to have a place to have their space, since some do not have any.
"Many of them, as they tell me, have a deficit in that aspect. So we are going to prepare, as far as possible, municipal places so that they have a place and can hold their meetings and those initiatives that they believe convenient. "
The councilor also explained the needs to be covered in Puerto de Mazarrón in regard to services provided from the City Council, especially "check-in, registration and other procedures to prevent the displacement of residents of Puerto de Mazarrón to the current city hall building. "
The most suitable place would be "the so-called Casa del Mar", explained Moreno, who argued that "on the top floor there are two classrooms and an auditorium, which could cover this need".
