The slim of the Government of Spain in the Region of Murcia, Francisco Jiménez, has chaired this morning together with the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, the Local Security Board in which the first deputy mayor, Ginés Campillo, has also been present Civil Guard colonel, Jesús Arribas, the head of the CARM Local Police Coordination Services, Alfonso Ayuso, as well as representatives of the Civil Guard post of Puerto de Mazarrón, of Civil Protection and Municipal Emergency Service (SEM) and Firefighters of the Firefighting Consortium.
During the meeting, both administrations have pledged to collaborate together to coordinate the available forces of Local Police and Civil Guard in order to better organize the surveillance work in the municipality.
In this regard, "it has been decided to retake the figure of the Local Security Coordination Board that during the last legislature had been forgotten so that both the agents of both security forces, such as Civil Protection, SEM and Firefighters; coordinate better and be more effective in dealing with a problem, "said Mayor Gaspar Miras.
Incorporation of new Civil Guard agents
The Government delegate has announced the incorporation of five new agents to the Mazarrón barracks, so that the workforce, with fifty troops, is complete.
A measure that, together with USECIC units that will patrol the urbanizations, will contribute to strengthening citizen security.
"These new agents will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening citizen security, along with other measures such as the incorporation of USECIC units that will patrol the urbanizations"
Another aspect that has been affected has been in the Safe Tourism Plan of the Region of Murcia in which more than 240 Civil Guard and National Police agents incorporated in summer to the templates of the Region are intended to reinforce the surveillance in localities of our coast.
The City Council has pledged to participate actively in this plan for the prevention of crimes in areas of influx of vacationers and in greater and better attention to tourists, informing them of these preventive security measures.
An aspect that the government delegate wanted to highlight because "in this sense, citizen collaboration is essential to make it difficult for criminals. That is why it is necessary that citizens comply with the recommendations and security measures of the agents and that each be responsible for their properties and, for example, avoid carrying many valuables when we go to the beach or leave them in sight when we leave the car, the hotel or the apartment, "said Jiménez.
