The roof of the hotel 'Alegría Dos Playas' hosted on Friday night the awards ceremony of the XXXV Story Contest 'Villa de Mazarrón Antonio Segado del Olmo'.
Marcelo Luján, winner of the contest, and Javier Izcue, awarded the second prize, received their awards from the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, the Councilor for Culture, Ginés Campillo, and the writer Elvira Navarro;
President of the jury this year also composed of the mazarronera professor María de los Ángeles Rodríguez, the writer Ginés Aniorte, the writer Antonio Parra Sanz, the editor Fernando Fernández and the director of the Popular University entity of the session that organizes the contest- José María Lopez Ballesta.
Both Luján and Izcue thanked the jury for their election as winners this year before a large number of audiences, including other members of the municipal corporation, socialist deputies in the Regional Assembly, Alfonso Martínez Baños and Magdalena Sánchez Blesa who also He stands out as a poet in his daily life.
Writers, artists and members of Murcian society and culture completed a night in which the poet José Cantabella, who died last May and who has also participated as a member of the jury in previous editions, and the writer Antonio Segado del Elm that gives its name to the consolidated contest.
The first prize of the contest is endowed with 3,600 and plaque, while the second prize includes an amount of 2,400 euros and plaque for the chosen one.
This year, as usual, there has been a very high participation, with a total of 836 works, arrivals from all continents, especially in Latin America and Europe, although work has also been received from the United States and the Middle East.
This year's event, and as is tradition, was completed with a conference on Thursday night by Elvira Navarro herself.
