The Mazarron paid tribute this December 8th to their Patroness, the Purísima Concepción.
For this, they fulfilled the tradition by completing a wide schedule of liturgical acts that began with the morning Mass at the Residencia de Ancianos, during which they paid homage to the Red Cross.
Later, at noon, the Shrine was the scene of the Solemn Eucharist during which the composed Mazarronera Mass was performed, to honor the Patroness, more than half a century ago by Juan de la Cruz and Antonio Saura.
The mayor, Alicia Jiménez, attended this event along with other members of the municipal corporation.
The Holy Mass was officiated by the Director of Theological Studies of San Fulgencio, Juan Carlos García Domene, accompanied by the parish priest of San Andrés and San Antonio, Antonio José Martínez.
In the afternoon the procession took place with the image of the Patron, previously in the Sanctuary was carried out the blessing of gentlemen portapasos and ladies.
The procession left the Sanctuary accompanied by the Band of Drums and Bugles, followed by the Infants Association and the banner of the Purisima.
The queen of the festivities, Vaiva Visockaite and her bridesmaids, as well as the children and older queens, Sofía García and María Fenollosa, marched in hand with the throne.
Also, a representation of the pedestrian mayors carrying the hachotes belonging to each of the districts, as well as the mayor, the announcers and members of the government team and the municipal corporation;
mazarroneros and mazarroneras lighting the Virgin in an afternoon in which the Patron appeared on her throne through the streets of Mazarrón.
The procession closed the Maestro Musical Association Eugenio Calderón.
Upon his return to the Sanctuary, he proceeded to the delivery of a recognition to Juan Toledo, composer of the Anthem to the Immaculate Conception.
