A perspective of the Plaza de Ramón y Cajal with the church of San Andrés in the background inspired Rafael Terrés to paint the painting that finally turned out to be the winner of the National Contest of Painting Outdoor Landscapes of Mazarrón ".
First place endowed with 2,500 euros and awarded by the City of Mazarrón by the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Martínez.
From eight o'clock in the morning, after inscriptions, forty painters from the Region of Murcia and other neighboring communities looked for a place in the municipality to be reflected in their canvases.
At six o'clock in the afternoon, the works began to be exhibited at the Cultural Center of Mazarrón and the evaluation of the jury composed of Pedro Martínez, Luis Marino, Javier Lorente, Alfonso García and José María López began.
After the deliberations, Rafael Terrés's painting turned out to be the winner of the contest.
The second prize, worth 1,500 euros and sponsored by Bemalú SA was for Manuel Sánchez.
The third prize, worth 1,000 euros and sponsored by Dugralia, fell to Antonio cantero.
The special watercolor prize, sponsored by Hortisa and endowed with 600 euros, went to Pablo García's painting.
In addition, four runners-up, endowed with 350 euros each, were awarded to the works Blai Tomás, Eduardo Gómez, Miguel San Pedro and Cristóbal León.
These awards are sponsored by Bolnuevo Playas SL, Muebles Santo Tomás SA, Polvorín Beach Club and La Fundición Bar.
The works of the participants will remain exposed in the exhibition hall of the Cultural Center.
