The Municipal Day Center for the Elderly of Mazarrón celebrated its Closing Session of the Workshops held throughout the 2017/2018 academic year.
More than 350 people have enjoyed and learned knowledge in about 30 workshops offered, 8 of them thanks to the La Caixa Foundation.
The mayor, Alicia Jiménez, shared the day with the elders of the center.
During the same, Pedro Dávila was recognized as the oldest member.
Together with Laura Ortiz, councilor for Social Policy, she handed out the diplomas to the course monitors and proceeded to inaugurate an exhibition that shows part of the work carried out.
The performance of the choir entertained a day that began with an exhibition of different workshops and ended with a convivial snack.
In the month of July there will be 8 workshops: gerontogimnasia, yoga, pilates, memory, painting, jewelery and crafts and a massage workshop. In addition, a trip to Balneario de Archena is scheduled for the 27th.
Throughout the course, the programming has included: gerontogimnasia, yoga, pilates, painting, Latin dances, classical dances, sevillanas initiation and advanced, basic and advanced computer science, crafts, bobbin, cut and confection, elaboration of Bethlehem, esparto, coral , rondalla, patshwork, coffee chat, memory and English for the elderly. Regarding the La Caixa Foundation workshops: "Older readers", "In shape", Living is discovering "," Living in positive "," Living as I want "and" Feed your well-being ".
