The Ministry of Education will implement two new VET modules in Mazarrón (05/06/2018)

The Community takes note to invest in works and new improvements in the centers of the municipality |

The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, accompanied the general director of Educational Centers, Remedios Lajara and the general director of Vocational Training and Teachings of Special Regime, Sergio López, in the visit that both made to Mazarrón to check the work done and take note of the new pending investments to improve the educational centers of the municipality.

During the visit, Sergio López confirmed the announcement of the implementation of two new FP modules in Mazarrón.

From the next course, at the IES Felipe II, the average degree of Hairdressing and Hair Cosmetics will be taught and at the 21st Century Concerted School, the average level of Cooking and Restoration.

It treats, according to confirmed the general director, "of two modules very demanded in the Region of Murcia".

Visit to works and announcement of improvements

Along with the mayor, Alicia Jiménez, the general managers toured the facilities of the school of Puerto de Mazarrón as well as the CEIP Manuela Romero, center where they have invested more than 80,000 euros to renovate two sloping roofs, one, 240 meters square, in the pavilion of two floors that houses the dining room and a classroom and the second, 32 square meters, in another pavilion on the ground floor used for classroom.

These actions will prevent moisture infiltration and thermally isolate the pavilions.

In addition, new gutters and downpipes of white lacquered aluminum were installed, which provide greater strength and durability and integrate with the environment of the facade.

They also checked the works carried out in the toilets of this center in Puerto de Mazarrón that currently has more than 450 students.

The general directors took note at the request of the mayor, Alicia Jiménez and the Councilor for Education, Patricio Sánchez, of the needs raised by schools in the municipality.

"We have seen issues of accessibility, electrical installation and improvements in child toilets." Lajara confirmed that "technical advisers are already visiting schools to deal with repairs and improvements to the electrical installations."

In addition, the general directors of the Community stressed that Mazarrón is one of the municipalities that has since June of the services of a school nurse, assigned to the Health Center and that will work with students in the open classrooms and other students of the different centers with special needs.
