"Murcia and Water: History of a passion" comes to Mazarrón (07/10/2008)

The mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, and the Councillor for the Environment, Juana Maria Morales, inaugurated the exhibition 'Murcia and water: The story of a passion "in a ceremony held last night at the Auditorium of the Department of culture.

The inauguration was also attended by the mayors of Culture, Alicia Jiménez, and Sports, Francisco Antonio Raja.

The exhibition includes fifty panels that make a journey through 5,000 years of history linked to the work done by the Murcia to manage water.

The aim of this exhibition is to convey to as many citizens as the desire of man to get water.

The exhibition is divided into 15 chapters that review topics such as' Our grandparents and water ',' water lords', 'Como agua de mayo', 'The ditches: a complex maze bare', 'The irrigation: from traditional systems of irrigation techniques of the century 'or' Sugar Mills water: wells, water mills and windmills. "

Also, 'Murcia and water: The story of a passion' also results in a water map different routes that exist in the different municipalities of the Region.

The curator of the exhibition is Nicholas Pascual Vera who has worked in coordination with Ana María Martín Luque in the development of this exhibition, with drawings made by Isidoro González-Adalid Cabezas.

The exhibition, which has helped the municipality of Mazarrón is organized by the Joint Commission Regional Assembly of Murcia-Real Academia Alfonso X El Sabio.
