Designed calendar for the extraction and museological Phoenician boat Mazarron (22/04/2015)

Yesterday the boardroom of the City of Mazarrón hosted a meeting of the commission Phoenician boat from Mazarrón composed of experts and representatives of various institutional bodies.

The meeting was convened by the Department of Historical Heritage and Museums and it was attended by the mayor of the area and candidate for mayor of Mazarrón Mazarrón by Independent Union (UIDM), Ginés Campillo.

With him were the head of Coastal Demarción in Murcia, Andrés Martínez, the head of service Heritage Service of the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage of the CARM, Miguel San Nicolas, the scientific directors of Congress on Phoenician Ship in 2013, Jose Miguel Cano University of Murcia and Juan Blánquez of the Autonomous University of Madrid, experts in underwater archeology, Nieto Xavier University of Cadiz and Manuel Martin Good, University of Zaragoza, Francisco García and María Martínez Mayor and City Council Municipal archaeologist Mazarrón respectively.

During the meeting various issues related to the Phoenician wreck found on the beach of the island and, once again, Ginés Campillo made clear that the City will not allow this archaeological jewel moves out of town were addressed.

Therefore, a timetable for the submission of draft wreck removal and musealization in Mazarrón was designed.

In such projects, and experts will participate the local, regional and state administrations.

Ginés Campillo explained that "we are making great strides in the right direction so that in a few years can enjoy Mazarrón of our most precious archaeological jewel, thanks to Congress from 2013 work began on the wreck rigorously and scientific criteria. "

Campillo said that "we have a good feeling at work developing estasmos as we have known to involve in the project to all agents associated with him and have also given once and for all the value that the Phoenician boat deserves, with its cataloging as a Cultural Interest ".
