BIC's statement raises the archaeological importance of the site of La Isla (01/04/2015)

The last Council of Government of the Region of Murcia decided to adopt on a proposal from the Ministry of Culture, the declaration as Cultural Interest (BIC) underwater archaeological site of the beach of the island where the mid-90 They found two Phoenician ships seventh century BC.

The remains of one of these wrecks were rescued and taken to Cartagena where they are exposed at the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology (ARQUA).
