Mazarrón leading regional volume turnover of fish so far this year.
According to the data provided by the fishermen's associations, fish market located in the fishing port of Mazarrón billed until May 635,363 kilos of fish, gender was sold for 1,176,444 euros.
Councillor for Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of the City of Mazarrón, Magdalena Mendez, these data "confirm the path leading the Fishermen's Port, which already in 2013 brought record data especially in the purse seine fishery."
Magdalena Mendez estimates are paying both biological strikes as the presence of nearby marine reserves because "not only is increasing fishing but species are also preserved."
The second auction with a higher number of sales in the region is San Pedro del Pinatar who had a fish production of 581,973 kilos of marine species.
Third and fourth billing Eagles are the markets with 198,982 kilos and Cabo de Palos with 26,613 kilos.
Traps generated by all regional markets in 2013 exceeded five million kilos of fish, crustaceans and molluscs generated some revenues of nearly twelve million euros.
