The Civil Guard detained in Mazarrón the alleged perpetrator of a series of scams internet (16/04/2014)

So far clarified a dozen criminal offenses in several locations in Madrid, Malaga, Cadiz, Alicante, Valencia, Zaragoza, Navarra and Gran Canaria

The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia has developed the 'Zovi' operation, to pursue a number of scams on the internet, which has resulted in the identification and arrest of a person in Mazarrón, on suspicion of a dozen violation criminal of this type, being victims in different provinces of the country, including Madrid, Malaga, Cadiz, Alicante, Valencia, Zaragoza, Navarra and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The investigation began last March, when civil guards specializing in public safety prevention detected illicit activities related to the sale of mobile phones stolen.

Specifically, a person was reported in Barcelona have acquired a terminal through the website of Mazarron Property and, when used, the operator was informed that the mobile phone listed as subtracted.

During the course of the investigation, the Meritorious continued to receive notifications of committing similar crimes.

In these cases, irregularities were also related to the same website.

Victims acquired advertised on the page, such as TVs and mobile terminals, formalizing payments, but never received the purchased product and are reintegrated the amount previously paid products.

Once obtained all necessary evidence, and then to identify the person who was behind the web announcing products, in recent days, the Civil Guard has arrested and brought to justice the person responsible for the web, as alleged author various crimes and offenses of fraud.

So far, the Civil Guard has noted the existence of a dozen criminal offenses allegedly committed by the now arrested, Spanish, age 28 and resident of Mazarrón, which was also arrested by the Civil Guard last February for offenses similar.

Victims in eight provinces

The Civil Guards who have developed research have had the cooperation of other units of the Guardia Civil and National Police, which has detected the existence of victims in the cities of Madrid and Pinto Tajunya Perales de Malaga Rota (Cádiz), Altea (Alicante), Tavernes Blanques (Valencia), Zaragoza, Pamplona (Navarra) and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, estimating that the scams detected far exceed 3,000.

The arrest and the proceedings have been brought before the Magistrate's Court in Totana (Murcia).

The investigation remains open, so that there are more victims related to the marketing of products through the site involved is not excluded.

Avoiding Scams on the web:

Always buy through contrasting sites and established reputation.

Beware of vendors offering "super deals".

Search the web references on the merchants and ads before purchase.

Be cautious in purchases from users who say live abroad and seeks payment on delivery.
