The 'surfers' take the beach Reya 26 and October 27 (18/10/2013)

The 26th and October 27th will be held on the beach of 'La Reya', better known as 'Big Bay', the 4th edition of the 'Surfito', a date with the surf that organizes the 'Bay Surf School' and this year has the support of the Department of Sports City of Mazarrón, and various companies that provide gifts for the participants of this meeting.

As explained by the Councillor for Sports, Andrew James, "the event are invited all those young people under 18 who want to spend a weekend playing this sport or who want to start in this world."

The mayor stressed that "collaborating in this event continue to promote sports related to the sea and the beach, as we have done with sailing, beach volleyball or surfing new municipal school."

The director of the 'Bay Surf School', José María Cascales, commented that "children and young people can sign up completely free on the same weekend at the beach, because our goal is to promote the 'surf culture' that this area has not seen much ".

Hence in 2010, Cascales and other friends put up some meetings in that surf beach to promote this sport "that is slowly consolidating and gaining followers."

Just this year in order to promote this discipline, the Department of Sports and 'Bay Surf School' have launched the Municipal School of Surf will begin its journey on Saturday, which is the day that the coming months will be taught classes for those children and youth who have formalized their registration.

Registrations can still be made for this, and other sports, in the offices of the Department of Sports Pavilion 'the Flour mill'.

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, has invited those who feel interest in the sport "to come to the beach of" La Reya 'as it has come time to promote water sports in our town to which, so far , they had not been given the attention they deserved. "

To the mayor is "another sign that we look to the coast and towards Puerto de Mazarron to take full advantage of all the good that offers in tourism, sports, cultural and social."
