Participants of XIX cleanups seabed Mazarrón Bay collected 170 kilos of waste (05/10/2013)

About a hundred of divers arrived from various parts of the region and the rest of the country, especially in Madrid, participated in the XIX cleaning Seabed Mazarrón Bay this year, for the first time, has been organized by the newly created Coastal Services Department of the City of Mazarrón, and which have collaborated dive centers 'Friends of the Blue', 'Diving Hispania Southeast Dive Center - Bachisub' and the marina of Mazarron, it has provided facilities for the development of the activity.

Divers have collected about 170 kilos of waste from the seabed of the Lower, the breakwater of the port and the beach of Bahia.

In addition, and for the first time this year, the initiative has been framed within the program 'International Coastal Cleanup' (International Coastal Cleanup) that globally organizes' Oceans Conservancy and in Spain developed the 'European Environment Association' .

Precisely the national coordinator of this global project, Daniel Rolleri, has been commissioned to deliver the talk before the cleanup day, explaining how the divers, as well as collecting waste, had to fill some chips that will be sent to the 'Ocenas Conservancy 'for these days in the Bay of Mazarrón, pioneers in Spain, part of the global project that takes place in 75 countries around the world.

Councilman Coastal Services, Miguel M ª García, and the Environment, David Fernandez, have been responsible for welcoming the participants.
