This past Saturday was held within the environmental program "Mazarrón Green" which is taking place throughout the month of June the Municipal Cleanup Day in which more than fifty volunteers who served in three different areas the municipality.
In this sense, the group of foreign residents "Green Fingers" collected around 150 kilos in Camposol urbanization, while "Alcedo" did the same on the beaches of El Rihuete and El Puerto which was collected only about 50 kilos of waste Thanks to the cleanup that are held throughout the year on the coast.
The last group, led by hiking club "Friends of Nature", collected about 300 kilos of trash from the area of ​​the Holy Cabezo in Mazarrón.
The Councillor for the Environment, David Fernandez, accompanied each of the groups they welcomed their participation and those who handed out commemorative T-shirts, caps to avoid the heat of the sun that shone hard all day as well as snacks and water to regain strength after the activity.
In total, "we collected half a tonne of waste" said the mayor who said that "it is less than in other years because the effectiveness of awareness campaigns are undertaken to protect the environment."
The activities of "Mazarrón green" continue on Friday 28 with a talk by Secretary of "Ecologists in Action" which, accompanied by the Councillor for the Environment will speak on "Political and Natural Heritage conservation in the Region of Murcia" from the 21 hours in the Market Square of Puerto de Mazarrón.
On Saturday 29, "Alcedo" with the collaboration of the council, has organized a trip to CEMACAM of Torreguil, which is going to make a "Workshop on the traditional uses of plants in the home setting."
To participate in the activity must be done prior registration at a price of 10 euros per person.
The price includes bus transportation to the center leaving from different points, environmental activity by Carrascoy saw the realization of that workshop and lunch.

When programming "green Mazarrón" are participating with the consistory Mazarron Anse groups, Ecologists in Action, Alcedo, the Hiking Club Friends of Nature, Reforestadores Mazarrón, the Fishing Club Puerto de Mazarrón, Anjupesca, Geomaza, Diving Hispania and Camposol Green Fingers.
