The Third Race "Mazarrón Bay" due to the storm and it is becoming sleepless sporting event (28/04/2013)

The waters of the Bay of Mazarrón have hosted this weekend during the Third Race "Mazarrón Bay" where you finally have participated 27 sailing vessels of great length, as more than a dozen teams who had confirmed their attendance not have been able to attend the event by the time installed on the Mediterranean coast since last Friday.

The mayor and Jose Hernandez, president of "Mazarrón Race Club" who organized the test with the consistory, have made awards after the second leg of the course, which took place this morning.

The rainstorm that has happened today has not prevented the sailors have taken the start at 11 am, and were obliged to deliver maximum physical and technical at times in the competition who has excelled for its spectacular thanks to strong gusts of wind that accompanied the storm.

In regard to classification, are three categories in which the test has been divided.

In the category Class 1 and Class RI RI 2, the winning boat was the "HMS Surprise" coming from the Real Club de Regatas (RCR) Cartagena and headed by Hector Lopez.

Second place went to the boat "Carmen" also Cartagena, while in third place boat has been ranked the "Trabuco" from Real Club Nautico (RCN) of Torrevieja.

Class RI In category 3, the winning boat has been "Black Octopus" led by Pedro Gil and arrival from the RCN de Torrevieja.

In second place stood the ship "Queen II Trebol" Cartagena and third RCR has been the "Olympia" Yacht Club (CN) Mar Menor.

Finally, RI Class category 4, the first boat to cross the finish line was the "saleroso" directed by Luis Carlos Martinez del CN ​​Eagles.

The vessel "Aquamarine" also of CN Eagles, has been second in this category and the "Aladroque IV" was the third-ranked RI 4, this being representative of Mazarrón Race Club.

The meeting was also attended by personalities from the social Mazarron and Murcia, as in the case of Alberto Aguirre de Carcer who is director of "La Verdad de Murcia".

Councillor for Sports, Andrew James, and the councilors of Tourism and Social Policy, Maria Celeste Soria and Mary Martinez, also attended the event and delivered several awards to representatives of the participating vessels.

These include the recognition of the oldest sailor, Juan Garcia Lax, and most sportsmanship, Salvador Zamora Navarro.

The sporting event has been supported sailing federations Murcia and Spanish and the Royal National Cruise Association (RANC).

In addition, the test has had a national character as it has been scoring for the National Trophy Autonomy of the RANC, alongside the quote in Aguilas and Cartagena dispute.
