Awards, exhibitions and gifts to commemorate the "Day Book" (24/04/2013)

Mazarrón held yesterday the "Day Book" with several events organized from the Department of Culture of the City, within the Cultural Week designed to enhance and enjoy this celebration.

The main event of the day was the awards ceremony of the competitions held from Mazarrón and Puerto libraries in order to encourage reading and creativity of the citizens of the municipality.

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, accompanied by the Councillor for Culture, Maria Celeste Soria, were responsible for presenting the awards to the winners of the adult narrative, since the rest were deserted, in the Plenary Hall of the Houses Consistoriales.

Rosa Rico was the winner of the first prize in that competition, endowed with an e-book and a bonus of 30 euros for the purchase of books, for his story.

The second prize, also a bonus of 30 euros for books, was placed in the hands of Salvador Madrid.

Both read their stories before starting these sincere applause for the quality of their stories.

Ginés Campillo praised his work as "the Rosa teaches us how important it is to know how to use the time and the Savior is interesting and whose resemblance to reality is purely coincidental. I liked a lot," said the mayor.

Also receiving recognition and a gift the "best" library users and Puerto de Mazarrón, ie those who had been those who had read more books in 2012.

As Soria said, "in this interesting exhibition can discover what was the first book printed in Spain, which was the first in Murcia, Murcia the first newspapers and other details about the history of printing and paper."

Also, students of Secondary School "Antonio Hellin" Puerto de Mazarrón distributed free among passers of Constitution Avenue and Plaza Mazarrón Port Coopers, bookmarks for books and leaflets which explained why the celebration of this day.

Today continue the activities within this program which runs until Friday April 26 and in which are excelling the various workshops that are being enjoyed by a large number of children throughout the municipality as with the origami workshop or through the creation of stories.
